>> He says I'm special. He says [music] I'm

>> All right, you [music] guys. Let me see

[music] Hi friends. Welcome to Church at Home. My name is Rachel and I'm so excited you're here with us today because we're starting a new series all about a man named Daniel. Daniel had [music] next level faithfulness. He was faithful to God his whole life. That means Daniel chose to [music] stand with God. And you know what? Daniel shows us something we can all do, too. We can have next level faithfulness when we choose to be healthy. And that's our big idea for today. I [music] can be faithful by being healthy. Let's say that together on three. 1 2 3. I can be faithful by being healthy. Great job. You know, God wants [music] us to be healthy because he knows what's best for us. God made us and he cares [music] about us. God loves everyone and he will stand with us. You know, one of the ways we can be healthy is by listening to good things. We can do that right now. I know a really good [music] song that tells us about our big and strong God. Let's stand and sing Big and Strong together. Here we go. Let's sing [music] Big and Strong together. Can you guys move around? Good job. [music] We're going to sing My God is Big and Strong. Let's sing it out together. >> My God is big and [music] strong. >> Big and strong. He loves everyone. >> Everyone. [music] >> My God [singing] is big and strong. >> Sing it out. >> Big and [music] strong. >> He loves everyone. >> Everyone. >> God [music] cares for me. >> God [singing] cares for me. >> He says I'm special. >> He says [music] I'm [singing] special. God stands with me. He's [music] the one I'm in trouble. My God is big and strong. Let me hear you. >> Big and strong. >> He loves everyone. [music] >> Everyone. >> My God is big and strong. [music] >> Big and strong. >> He loves everyone. >> Everyone. >> Say, "Hey." >> Hey. Can you guys say hey again? [music] >> Let me see you dance. >> Let me see those dance moves and say hey. >> Sing God cares for me. >> God cares for me. >> He says I'm special. He says [music] I'm special. [singing] God stands with me. He's there when I'm in trouble. My God is big and strong. Sing it out. >> Big [music] and strong. >> He loves everyone. [music] >> Everyone. >> My God is big and strong. >> Big and strong. [music] >> He loves everyone. >> Everyone. >> All right, you [music] guys. Let me see those final dance moves. Great job singing and dancing everyone. That song tells us that God stands with us. [music] That means God is faithful to us and we can be faithful to God too. And when we listen to that song, we are practicing making healthy choices [music] by listening to good music. Now, there's a story that I want you to see about Daniel who was in trouble a few times, but he was faithful to [music] God because he knew God would stand with him, too. The story is in [music] this book right here. Do you know what book this is? It's the Bible. The Bible [music] is God's very special book. I can't wait for you to hear about Daniel's next level faithfulness. So, let's put on our listening ears and thinking caps [music] and let's watch our Bible story. >> Slapstick Theater. Daniel in Nebuchadnezzar's court. This is Daniel. Oh, hey. who was a Jewish man who was taken to Babylon when he was very young. The king of Babylon was a man named Nebuchadnezzar. >> That's right. >> And he ordered Ashpenaz, his chief of staff, to bring some of the young men of Judah, who were strong, [music] healthy, and good-looking, to the palace. >> You got it. He wanted these men to be smart and they would [music] be trained for 3 years in the language and books of Babylon so they could serve the king. The king also ordered that they would be given food and drink from his own kitchens daily. >> Yep. >> Daniel and his three friends, Shadrach, Mach, and Abedneo, were four of the young men chosen from the tribe of Judah to enter the king's training. But Daniel chose not to eat the [music] food and drink given by the king because it was food that God had told his people not to eat. All right. Daniel asked Ashbaz for permission not to eat this food. Ashbinaz liked Daniel, but he told him that he was afraid that if Daniel didn't eat the food that the king ordered that he would become weak compared to the other young men, and that would get Ashpen in trouble with the king. >> Sorry about that. >> Daniel asked his attendant if he and his three [music] friends could eat a diet of only vegetables and water for 10 days and then be tested to see how they compared to the other young men. The attendant agreed. >> Okay. All right. >> At the end of 10 days, Daniel and his three friends looked healthier and better nourished than the young men who had been eating the king's food. Awesome. >> So, after that, the attendant fed them only vegetables instead of the food and drink provided for the others. God gave these four young men wisdom and a special understanding for things. God gave Daniel the ability to interpret visions and dreams. >> Yeah. [music] >> When the three years of training was over, all the young men were brought before the king. But no one impressed the king as much as Daniel, Shadrach, Mach, and Abindo. I like them. >> So, the four men entered the king's service. And whenever the king asked him about something, he found them more capable than any of the other wise [music] men in his kingdom. Wow. Daniel and his friends were really faithful. They showed next level faithfulness when they chose to eat foods that were healthy. Their bodies were strong and healthy because of them. You can be faithful to God by being healthy, too. You can choose to eat yummy fruits and veggies and other good things for your bodies to be big and strong. You can also make healthy choices by choosing to listen to good stories like stories from the Bible. We can remember the story about Daniel and his friends and how [music] they were faithful by being healthy. We can be faithful to God, too. God loves us and [music] is with us. I know this because of something God tells us in the Bible. I want to show you, but it's all covered in bubbles. Can you help me pop all the bubbles so we can read our Bible verse together? Grab [music] your bubbles and let's go. Okay, everybody, it's bubble popping time. A bubble on the left, a bubble on the right, bubble up high, and bubble down low. There's a bubble. There's a bubble. There's a bubble. There's a bubble. Wait, that's not a bubble. That's a bubble. Does everybody know what the bubble is? I don't, but I'm going to find out when we pop the bubbles. Bubble popping party people. Let's keep it going. Yay. Pop them to the left. Pop them to the right. Pop them over here. And pop them out of sight. That's it. All right. All right. Keep going. Yay. We're almost there. We're at the pop. Exactly 20 and 1/2 bubbles left. Okay. Ready? Go. 1 2 3. Keep growing. [laughter] That's the bubble. Oh, too many bees. Pop them over here. Pop them over there. Pop them on the ground. And pop THEM IN THE AIR. Pop them everywhere. [screaming] Yay. Great job. I think we got all the bubbles. Now we can see our Bible verse. Joshua 1:9 says, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or [music] discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. You know, there's a song that we can sing that has these words from the Bible. I would love to sing this song with you right now. Let's stand and sing Joshua 1:9 [music] together. This is Joshua 1:9. Let's get ready to jump. Here we go. And we're going to say [music] some hey. >> All right, that was pretty good. Let's see if you can be louder. You ready? >> All right, one more time. as loud as you can. Say, "Hey." >> Good job. [music] Now, let's sing. Be strong and courageous. >> Be strong and courageous. >> Do not be afraid. >> Do not [music] be afraid or discouraged >> for the Lord. >> For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. [music] >> Sing that out again. >> Be strong and courageous. >> Do not be afraid. >> Do not [music] be afraid or discouraged >> for the Lord. For the Lord [music] your God is with you wherever you go. All right, let's bounce and say, "Hey, Joshua 1." [music] Keep on bouncing and say, "Hey, Joshua [music] 1." Be strong and courageous. >> Do not be [music] afraid. >> Do not be afraid or discouraged. for the Lord. >> For the Lord [music] your God is with you wherever you [music] go. >> Sing that out again. >> Be strong and courageous. >> Do not be afraid. [music] >> Do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord your God is [music] with you wherever you go. All right, let's get jumping [music] and say, "Hey, Joshua." Keep that [music] jumping up and let me hear you say, "Hey." Here we go. >> Joshua, that was so fun. Thanks for singing that with me. That song reminds [music] us that we can be strong because God is with us wherever we go. God loves us and he wants good things for us. He even wants us to be healthy. Today, [music] our Scuppet friend Winston has a new fun game show called Next Level. He's going to do some awesome stuff. So, let's put on our listening ears and our thinking caps and see what Next Level stuff Winston has planned for today. HELLO AND WELCOME TO NEXT LEVEL, A new game show where we take things to the next level. That means we make things really, really, really awesome. Today's contestant is Joey. Say hi. >> Hey guys. Uh, I'm excited to go to the next level. >> Woohoo. Are you ready? >> Yeah. I mean, you know, [music] Winston, I was actually thinking about one way we can take things to the next level. >> Okay. >> We can be healthy. >> Oh, cool. Wait, what's that mean? >> Well, I mean when I'm healthy, my body's happy and I feel good. And you know, I've been doing a lot of things lately to feel healthy. >> Oh, okay. Uh, like what? >> Well, I've been choosing to see good things by reading my Bible. It makes me feel good. And I've been choosing to hear good things by listening to happy worship music. >> And I've been choosing to eat good things so my body gets healthy and strong. >> And I've been doing things like this. [screaming] >> THEY'RE CALLED JUMPING JACKS. I JUST HEARD about him. >> Hey, Joey, that's so cool. I think we should take it to the NEXT LEVEL. [screaming] WO! >> WO! >> WOOHOO! >> That's what the next level is. >> Oh, yeah, it is. Your challenge is to run through that obstacle course before I finish eating this yummy bowl of carrots. >> Wo! And I know you love eating carrots, too. Those are actually really healthy for you. >> Yep. >> Okay, I'm going to go for it. >> ALL RIGHT, LET'S DO IT. OKAY, I got this. I've trained for this. Now, remember, when you're healthy, you can feel, think, and act your best. >> Oh, Joey, you got this. You can do it. >> So, you got to remember, you can be faithful to God, and [music] he helps us to stay healthy and big and strong. >> Watch out, Joey. Don't fall. [screaming] >> I'm going FOR IT, WINS. OH. I'M GOING FOR IT, WINSTON. >> Big and strong. Here we go, Winston. Wow. We made it down the big slide. >> You did it. You did it. >> That was awesome. WHAT DO I WIN? >> LET ME SHOW YOU. >> OH, a remote control car. COOL. I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY WITH THIS. >> And that takes you to the next level. Nice job, Julie. There was something you said in there about being faithful. But what does that mean? >> Well, being faithful is choosing to stand with God. Now, we can do that by being healthy, right? >> And you showed me that I can be healthy by choosing to eat good things, see good things, and hear good things. >> That's right. And hey, when we are healthy, we can be ready to do good things that God made us to do, >> like running through an obstacle course. >> Sure. Or we can do it by helping others or learning about God. Now, Winston, before we go, I think we should take this course to the next level. >> How? >> I think we should race. >> You're on. Let's [screaming] go. >> LET'S GO TO THE OBSTACLE COURSE. 3 2 1 go. Woohoo! We're going in the obstacle course. WOOHOO! [screaming] >> WA! YOU'RE FASTER THAN I THOUGHT. ALL RIGHT, into the tunnel. >> I got this. Here I go. >> Winston's gaining on me. >> I got to pick up my speed. Whoa! I'm going going going. Yeah, >> Winston. I thought you were afraid of heights. >> Now I'm going to slide like a big one. W [screaming] >> That was close. >> Good job, Winston. >> Yeah, good job, Joey. >> Hey, that was fun. >> OKAY, FRIENDS, JOIN US NEXT week to see if Joey can make it to the next level. AND HEY, REMEMBER THAT YOU can be faithful by being healthy. God's always with you and he'll always help you. We'll see you next time. Bye. >> I'm going back to the OBSTACLE COURSE REMATCH. >> LET'S DO IT. >> LET'S GO. >> That was so much fun. I can't believe Joy made it through the entire obstacle course. And I love learning that there were lots of ways we can be faithful to God by being healthy. We can eat good things like Daniel did, but we can also see and hear good things. When we choose what's healthy, we can be ready to do, say, and think good things. And that's just what God wants for us and how we can have next level faithfulness. God loves us so much and he wants to be our friend. Why don't we pray and talk to God right now? Let's put five fingers here and [music] five fingers there and put them together for a prayer. God, thank you so much for loving us. God, thank you for making us and thank you for giving us so many things to enjoy for us to be healthy. We pray that we would remember that we can be faithful by being healthy. We love you so, so much. Amen. Thank you so much for joining us at church at home. [music] We're done with our time together, but we have fun crafts and activity pages for you to do. Just have your grown-up [music] at home help you go to saddlebackids.com to check it out. And remember that you can have next level faithfulness [music] and stand with God by being healthy. Have a great week and we'll see you next time. Bye. [music]
